I. About NPU
Located in the historic city of Xi'an, Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) is a leading multidisciplinary research university, dedicated to developing innovative education and research programs in the fields of aeronautics, astronautics, and marine technology engineering. It is now affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). In 1960 it was approved as a state key university by the State Council. It was one of the first universities to enter into the 211 Project in 1995, the 985 Project in 2001 and national "first-class" universities (Class A) in 2017. The university is also an initiator of the "Belt and Road" Aerospace Innovation Alliance (BRAIA) and of the "Belt and Road" Cultural Heritage Global Alliance (BRCHGA).
II. About Institute of Culture and Heritage
In 2017, Northwestern Polytechnical University established the Institute of Culture and Heritage in collaboration with the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration (SPCHA). The institute focuses on key technologies related to archaeological excavation, exploration, and heritage conservation. Its goal is to build a theoretical framework for cultural heritage conservation with Chinese characteristics and to develop an emerging interdisciplinary cultural heritage science.
In September 2022, NPU signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the National Cultural Heritage Administration, which focuses on deepening cooperation in disciplinary construction, scientific research, and talent cultivation.
In January 2023, the Key Laboratory of Archaeological Exploration and Cultural Heritage Conservation Technology was officially approved. It is one of the first key laboratories in the interdisciplinary field of archaeometry and cultural heritage conservation of the Ministry of Education.
In August 2023, the China Association for Conservation Technology of Cultural Heritage approved Northwestern Polytechnical University to establish Specialized Committee of Technology and Equipment for Cultural Heritage Conservation (CACTCH).
In September 2023, the State Council Academic Degrees Committee approved the first batch of interdisciplinary master's degree programs of cultural heritage at Northwestern Polytechnical University (code: 1451), and has now admitted the first batch of full-time and part-time master's degree students in cultural heritage.

V. Types of Position
The recruitment positions include five categories: Chair Professor, Leading Talent, Excellent Young Talents (overseas), Aoxiang Overseas Scholar, and Full Professor (Tenure-track).

2. Leading Talent

3. Excellent Young Talents(overseas)
Applicants should
1. have Ph.D. degrees and be under 40 years old;
2. have great innovation ability and development potential, and achieved great academic achievement in natural sciences, engineering & technology, philosophy & social sciences;
3. have obtained formal teaching or research positions in overseas universities, research institutions, or the institution for research in enterprises, and have more than 36 consecutive months of work experience. (For applicants who have obtained Ph.D. degree overseas and have outstanding performance, the requirement for working years could be appropriately relaxed).
Salary and other supports:
1. After completing the first term of employment, applicants will be eligible to become tenure-track professors upon passing an assessment;
2. 750,000 RMB annual salary, extra bonuses, other incomes from scientific research projects, and personalized rewards from college, etc.;
3. Provide research funds of 2-6 million RMB (including national funding);
4. Provide settlement allowance: 2 million RMB (including national and regional funding);
5. Provide support in building academic teams, tutoring and opportunities to take an internship in other relevant institutes;
6. Provide children with the highest quality primary and secondary education resources;
7. Provide high-quality health-care services for the talents, including the “Green Channel” to top-tier medical facilities and yearly check-ups at Grade-A tertiary hospital.
4. AoXiang Overseas scholar
Applicants should
1. have Ph.D. degrees and be under 40 years old;
2. have at least 3 consecutive years overseas scientific research experience, and have not yet returned to China or worked in China for less than 1 year;
3. have demonstrated outstanding performance in related fields, and have great potential to develop into national level young talents.
Salary and other supports:
1. 550,000 RMB annual salary, extra bonuses, other incomes from scientific research projects, and personalized rewards from college, etc.;
2. Provide research funding of 1 million RMB;
3. Provide 400,000 RMB settlement allowance (Tax free);
4. Provide children with the highest quality primary and secondary education resources.
NB：Applicants who have not passed the application for Excellent Young Talents (overseas) will be appointed as AoXiang Overseas scholar through certain procedures and enjoy corresponding benefits.
5. Full Professor (Tenure-track)
Applicants should be under 40 years old and meet academic standards for the position
Salary and other supports:
1. 510,000 RMB annual salary, extra bonuses, other incomes from scientific research projects, and personalized rewards from college, etc.;
2. Provide 100,000-300,000 RMB scientific research funds (based on the characteristics of the discipline);
3. Provide 200,000-300,000 RMB settlement allowance (Tax free);
4. Provide children with the highest quality primary and secondary education resources.
